Synopsis

When Susan and Brent Weller are unable to have children of their own, they wait patiently for an opportunity to adopt. When they finally receive a call from their lawyer, they are ecstatic to bring a beautiful baby girl into their home. As Anna grows, her parents begin to notice that she is not exactly like other children and that she has certain gifts that bless the lives of her family and those around her. Anna’s gifts, though positive, can sometimes have unexpected negative consequences for some. Anna’s parents struggle with how to best guide Anna and help her live a “normal”  life, but their trust in God and faith in Anna’s abilities to lift others lead them through the challenges of raising such a special girl.

Karey White’s debut novel has an interesting premise and sweet relationships within the family. The cover art is outstanding and gave me a nice visual for the unusual girl Anna. I enjoyed this story about an everyday family having extraordinary experiences and how they dealt with them. As soon as I finished Gifted my 14-year-old daughter picked it up and she enjoyed it as well.
