Synopsis

Coming from a family that’s rather well-known for their unluckiness, Tugs is surprised when her luck turns around. In a matter of a few days, she has made friends with popular Aggie, earned several blue ribbons, and won the town raffle. She also finds it lucky that she has stumbled into a bit of a mystery that she’s determined to solve.

I really liked the main character, Tugs. She is quirky and full of life and I was immediately pulled into her story. Her family and the rest of the townspeople were also fun to read about. I was disappointed in the ending, though. It was slightly anti-climactic and left a bit to be desired, in my opinion. But for children who are reading it, I don’t think that it will matter as much. Overall this is a fun and wholesome book. Geared for a young audience of 8+, which I think is perfect. It’s clean and easy to read; a fun story that children will be interested in and even relate to since the character is young as well and has age-appropriate adventures and experiences.
