What do you get when you take an adventurous young mouse and a friendly 8-yr.-old boy, who both love motorcycles? You get an entertaining and heart-warming story that has been popular for decades. The two meet in an old motel where Ralph, the mouse, lives behind a knot hole in the wall. Keith, a motel guest, brings along his favorite toy—a shiny red motorcycle. Ralph is allowed to learn to ride the toy motorcycle –it is just his size. Keith loves watching Ralph cruise up and down the motel hallway, as he dreams of riding a real motorcycle himself someday. Their friendship faces challenges as Ralph, during a foolish adventure, loses the motorcycle. But, loyalty and love win, as Ralph courageously faces great danger to find an aspirin tablet that will help Keith, who is sick.
What a great read aloud book, especially if you have young sons. Who doesn’t crack a smile when thinking about a mouse riding a toy motorcycle.
