Language: Profanity about 3 times.

Sexual Content: The book is from a teenage boy’s perspective and his dealings with girls. His thoughts are often sexual: “I won’t think about how it would feel to run my hands all over her naked body.” He makes out with 2 girls, mostly kissing, but does put his hand up one girl’s shirt. He is in an art class that draws nudes.

Synopsis

Murphy cannot believe he is dating Sophie. She is a popular, spunky girl and has left her normal group of friends to be with him, even when they reject the match. Murphy has been an outcast since elementary school. He gets invited to an art class at Harvard, just to audit. His art is really good, and he makes friends with the kids in the class. It is the first time he has felt a part of a group. He runs into trouble, however, when he and Sophie have some arguments. Murphy ends up making out with one of the girls from the art class, and Sophie finds out. The way the two of them handle peer harassment is clever and witty.

I was drawn into the relationship between Murphy and Sophie, as they both are appealing characters. It is funny and fast-moving and both teens make some mistakes but definitely show some character too.
